    Jean Quirion

    Is a professional DSP/Electronics Engineer (P.Eng.) with 13 years of experience in high technology product development. He has extensive real time embedded systems design and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) experience with applications to motor control and digital communications. At Ultra Electronics Maritime Systems (Ultra), Jean is currently the Technical Project Manager for all underwater acoustic digital communications research activities performed in conjunction with the Ultra Maritime Digital Communications Center (UMDCC) at Dalhousie University. Before working at Ultra, Jean worked at Cobham Surveillance for 5 years, where he led a team of engineers through the successful product definition, design, development, validation, and market launch of two key surveillance products for the company. Before working at Cobham Jean worked at International Rectifier Automotive for five years, where he designed advanced motor control algorithms and power electronics drives for automotive Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS) system. Jean has a B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of New Brunswick as well as an M.A.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Dalhousie University. Jean is an inventor on four patents.
